Can you smoke on a Carnival Cruise?

We're going on the Carnival Sensation and I can't find any info as to their smoking policy. mostly I want to know if we can smoke in our stateroom. And please, no "just quit"answers.

Answer :
Very easy...just entered "carnival cruises, smoking policy " in the search bar....got a whole list of articles with this info.

Answer :
I've never been on a cruise, but I would think that unless it's specifically designated as a smoke free cruise, you should be allowed to. You may not be able to smoke in your stateroom, but you should be able to smoke in designated areas..you really should quit though..and being on a cruise with lots of things to occupy you might be the perfect time to do it. Anyway, have a great time!

Answer :
My friend just got from a Mexico cruise and she said there was only designated areas where you could smoke, and not in your room. I'm sure they have similar policys.

Who was on cruise carnival sensation from july 26-30, 2009?

there were these two good lookin ma's on the boat and i couldnt build the confidence to say somethin to them so i kinda waited for them to talk to me but they never did, at one point i was gonna say somethin but my sister became friends with the people they were there with and if the girls didnt like me i was scared it'd get back to my sister and she would tell my parents and they wouldnt let it go so i never ended up saying anything. i was 99% sure they liked me because it seemed everywhere i was they were. plus they were doin the thing where you make eye contact and they look away quick so i was just wondering if they'd see this haha. i really cant get it of my mind and im regretting not saying anything

Answer :
Think of this as a lesson learned; nothing ventured, nothing gained! Just remember that when you are meeting people on a cruise, you probably will never see them again, so take a chance!

If you a really desperate, try going to cruisecritic.com and making an account. It's absolutely free, and you never know, maybe she is looking for you too!

I am going on Carnival Sensation cruise.?

I am going on May 17th and wondered what you all thought about it! We are going to the Bahamas! I just can not wait, but need some feedback in the meanwhile! I am 28 hubby 27 daughters are 3 and 5! We have cruised with Royal Caribbean before and it was a blast!

Answer :
You might be biased making comparisons to RC. I went on the Carnival Paradise to Ensenada with my family a few years ago and some had been on a Princess before and found lots of faults with Carnival.
But it was my first and only cruise so I liked it. It was fun trying different foods and the families we ate with were nice. Ship had normal activities I guess (clubs, casinos, and shows).
Have fun on your cruise and just try to enjoy it for what it is. I have heard lots of good things about RC so it may affect your feeling with Carnival so just relax and enjoy..

Carnival Sensation (cruise)?

I'm going on Sensation on April 4th and I just wanted to know a couple things and feedback on the ship.
-I know I'm going to have people to talk to and stuff because a couple of my friends are coming too. =]
-We're going to the Bahamas.
- And this is my first cruise so yeah....

Some questions I have in mind:
What kind of entertainment do they have (the shows)?
What kind of food do they have?
What do they have in the midnight buffet and is there only one or is there one every night?
And more I can't think of now. xD

Bahama question:
What are some fun afforable things to do there?

Give me all your feedback and stuff on it! =]

PS- I know that this isn't the BEST cruise around, so don't give me too many negative comments.

Thanks! =]

Answer :
I was on the Carnival Sensation to Bahamas 2 years ago. It is an older ship, as most shorter trip ships are.

The things you'll notice is that the number of amenities will be less than the bigger newer ships. The furniture and the decoration will look dated and worn... I was in a suite and it wasn't that great. But remember.. this is a cruise.. not stay in a room vacation.

But the food is still good... you still go to Bahamas.. the pool is filled and did I say food is still good and lots of it Always ask for more at dinner :) Evening entertainment is fair... it's not the broadway but beats watching TV. Comedians can be pretty good..they rotate entertainers every so often so whom I had will not be yours... so unless they go on a cruise a month or two before yours, they can't tell you much about the entertainment in specific.

Midnight buffet is just one night. and you are on a 3 to 4 day cruise so it'll be just one formal night too.

If you are younger in age.. 21 to 30 then you'll have a great time partying, drinking and sun bathing.. Carnival is known as the party cruise and it is.. decoration is very glitzy and loud.

if you are older than that.. it gets to be a bit too much. There is a lot of pushing for liquor, wine, photos.. I always take the photos since it's easier than trying to fend them off and you are not obligated to buy any.

are you already booked on Sensation? if not, I would suggest looking up Royal Caribbean's Soverign of the Seas, it travels out of Port Canaveral just like the Sensation and goes on a simliar itinerary. I am a generally in favor of the Royal Caribbean line of ships. If you are.. don't worry.. you'll have a great time.. it's a cruise.. you cannot NOT have fun.

As far as bahamas goes.. dependson what you want. to do...there are a lot of people in Nassau trying to get you to braid your hair or buy stuff. I remember going to the Dolphin area where you get in the water and they come and you can rub them.. but it costs about $99. I did it because where else in the mainland can I get to touch a dolphin? :) Walking around is still inexpensive.. beach getaways where they take you to a beach is about $30 or so.. it's not bad. If you are new to cruising, book your shore excursion WITH the ship.... they are few bucks more than outside vendors but you won't be left behind if your tour runs late. (it has happened before where ship leaves passengers if they don't get back)

I hope this helps.

Answer :
The Sensation was my first cruise ever and I LOVED IT!!! sure it's a smaller ship but that also means less crowds and sometimes better attention from the staff.

Shows- pretty much every night there is a show. whether it's a vegas style show, comedian, or magic show. There are also tons of music venues=dance club, piano bar, kareoke, jazz band.

Food- they have all kinds of food!!! Breakfast they have all the standards-eggs,bacon, yogurt, pancakes, even omlete stations. lunch-they have the buffett (standard buffett food-yummy i think) and the dinning room and lunch and it's always fantastic. Dinner in the dinning rooms are amazing!!! Filet Minion, lobster, chicken, pasta. LOVE IT!!! plus pizza, ice cream and room service is free and 24 hours. but they only have the midnight buffett 1 night I believe.

Bahamas-are you going to nassau?? if so you can just take a taxi over to the atlantis resort and it's free to walk about the HUGE lobby, aquarium, and shops.

Carnival sensation cruise?

hi i am 18 years old, i am going on a cruise for the first time ever to the bahamas. I been doing research and it seems that the dance clubs on the cruise lines especially carnival only have disco or oldies music. Is there any r&b or hip-hop played at all? also i already know that i can drink when i am offshore in bahamas, and by rules i cant drink on the ship, so are they really that strict with the age regulation on the ships or no? also is it easy to meet people there? i am going with my mom, so what do you suggest for us to do that we can both enjoy and have some good mother and daugther bonding (something that is free or cheap)
who ever answers all of my Qs will get 5 points! and i would greatly appreciate it

Additional Details

oh also, are there going to be a lot of people my age (17-23) especially people who are their alone or with families like me and not whole bunch of college friends, because i want to meet people over there. and at the dance clubs are their mostly adults (30 and up) or are their enough college kids?

one more thing, do you have to pay for the water ride on the ship? what about the spa? or fitness center? and if you do how much?

MOST IMPORTANETLY how do people dress there? especiallyyy on formal nights? is a formal dress too much?

i am going this sunday (the 6th) and as i mentioned i am goin with my mom. She is staying in the cabin with me

Answer :
Hi! u will have a great time on the cruise! Dont worry about the whole no hip hop thing! There is pkenty of hip hop on board and the night clubs will be rockin! And im sorry to tell u but yes they are very strict onboard any cruise ship. ur seas card that u bye the drinks with will say that u r underage and they will not give u alcohol! It will be a breeze for u to meet people! From all the clubs to just talking during dunner or talking to people on the pool deck u will b fine! For ur mom and u there will be plaenty of stuff to do. While on the islands go shopping. Bahamas have cool and neat places to shop while on the islands marketplaces and everything. Also while onboard u and ur mom should go to the spa together and just relaxxx and talkkk! All in all ur vacation will b a great time!!!

Have a wonderful trip!

Answer :
Cruisecritic.com can answer a lot of your questions. Also your travel agent can answer you questions. That is what they are paid for.

Answer :
There are several music venues, but normally none that play the kind of music you asked about. The cruise lines are among the most strict on age. You will meet people easily. There is always a substantial number of people your age, and activities are arranged so that you can meet each other. Also, if you go to cruise critic.com, you will be able to meet people before you get on the ship. There are usually seminars and classes that are fun. These are both free and there should be at least a couple during your cruise that you would like. Water ride and fitness center are free. Fees vary for the spa and are usually about a third more than on land. People will dress every way there is for formal nights from tux and gowns to pantsuit to long skirt or dress pants and nice top. A formal dress isn't too much, but isn't necessary either.

Answer :
Actually it completely depends on the ship. Most have at least 5 lounges playing different types of music and usually the club shuts down one night for Teen night. Every time I've walked by it's been playing modern Top 40 type music though they do occasionally throw in like Backstreet Boys or something to clear the dance floor for no reason. Like I said there are numerous clubs/lounges on the ship and they usually kinda divide up by age with older people are hanging out at one of them and the college kids taking over another one.

Like the others said, yes they are really strict on the drinking policy. The Sail and Sign card will not let you charge alcohol.

It will be really easy for you to meet people. All the teenagers seem to find each other very easily, plus you will most likely be sitting at dinner with people close in age to you. As for if there will be a lot of people 17-23 there, I don't know. That depends on the ship. You cannot book a room by yourself unless you are 25 so they would have to be with an older parent. I know there will be lots of people 16-18, but the college age crowd depends on what time of year it is.

You do not pay for the water slide or pools, or use of the fitness center. That is included with your cruise. The spa is extra. As for how much that is, depends. Like all spas, you can get the $500 treatment but they also have daily specials and at the art auction they auction off a spa package so I've gotten massage packages for $60.

Carnival is an odd cruiseline with formal night. It is all over the board. You will see lots of people in prom dresses. You will see lots of cocktail attire (my school called it Winterfest). Then you will also see the people that consider khakis and a polo to be "formal". Carnival never seems to tell people they are not dressed appropriately. The rules are "resort casual" after 6--no shorts, no tanks, no bathing suits. At dinner most nights, most people wear a sundress or a cute skirt with formal night being something extra. If you wear a prom dress you will see plenty of others dressed the same and it's a great opportunity to get a picture of you as the ship is filled with photographers.

Have you ever been on a Carnival Cruise?

Where did you go? What ship did you go on and what was the ship like? I have been to the Bahamas on the Carnival Sensation.

Answer :
I just came back from a cruise to the Western Caribbean on the Valor. We went to Belize, Honduras, grand Cayman, and Cozumel. It was my first cruise, but I felt like I had been doing it all my life. The ship was Absolutely immaculate, the rooms were ice size and always kept well, beds very comfortable, food great. Entertainment was good and the shopping on board good too. Casino was not that friendly to me but, they never are!! I think it was a great ship, mini gold, basketball, volleyball, pools, slide, fitness rooms, great lounges. I had an amazing time and am planning another for possibly in Jan and then in Sept for the Southern itinerary from Puerto Rico.

Hope this helps! I can not say enough about the cruise, awsome time!!

Answer :
Yes, leaving out of Tampa to Western Caribbean: Cayman Island, Conzumel, Costa Maya, Belezie. The best ports out of the Caribbean in my opinion. What you missed on the Sensation was a private island day vs a day at sea. Royal Caribbean, Disney, NCL, Costa... they all have a private island, so you do not spend a day at sea.

Answer :
I went to the bahamas as well but it was about 25 years ago so I dont remember the name

Im going on the Carnival Sensation next week!!!!

When I give them my cc for my set sail pass, how much do they put a hold on it for? I just wondered how much money would have a hold on it?

Answer :
We were on the Carnival Sensation last year and they put a $100 hold on our card per cabin. You can put more of a hold on it but they start at $100.

They accept debit or credit!

Enjoy your time on the Sensation!

Answer :
call and ask. go to the source that has the answer.
there is a certain amount per day. you don't say how long your cruise is.
it may be something like 100.00 per day per person.

Answer :
Give them a call and ask I believe it is $500
