I'm going to Freeport and Nassau in the Bahamas aboard the Carnival Sensation. Is there any must sees or?

any must not sees. Any pointers this is my first cruise would be appreciated.

Answer :
The only Must See is the Atlantis resort in Nassau.. I also like to go to Fort Fincastle. It is a good spot for taking pictures. The best tip I can give is to try to avoid the people at the pier in Nassau who want to give you a tour, or braid your hair. They are tenacious. They will even send their children to try to get money from you. I find the best solution is to keep walking, and not even acknowledge them. It may seem rude, but they are not any better.

If you go to the straw market, do not pay the asking price. I have always talked them down on the prices they wanted.

Answer :
I´d say straw market as well, Atlantis is ok.
There´s a pub on the street that goes up to the post office that is pretty good.
But overall Nassau doesnt have much.
Freeport even less.
Bahama-Boom is a pretty wild disco if you have overnight there, but it caters more to the cruise line crew and staff, gets pretty wild.

Answer :
I really liked the dolphin excursion and straw market, never saw Atlantis.

Must not sees? Honestly, the beaches aren't so great...

Answer :
In Nassau, I would check out Atlantis. It is a gorgeous resort. THey have the second largest aquarium in the world and now has a full water park with awesome tube slides through it. If you are more interested in shore excursions, the dolphin and stingray ones are really cool. As far as Freeport, try to get booked on a shore excursion. There is nothing else there to do on your own. The dolphin, snorkel, jeep excursions are fun there.

Has anyone been on Carnival Sensation?

I am going on a cruise on June 25th, 2009 and it is my first one. I was wondering if anyone had any kind of information or tips to give me before I go! We are sailing to Nassau, Bahamas!

Answer :
I went on Carnival Sensation last March. We went to Freeport (which there really isn't much to do there) and Nassaus (which I wish we would have had more time at!) The carnival sensation is their cheapest ship it is nice for a 1st timer though. You WILL get sea sick to take some Bromine. Bromine is better than dramamine b/c it doesn't put you to sleep. Take electric power strip with you b/c there are only 2 plugs in the rooms. And make sure you take sunscreen! This cruise is def a booze cruise so also make sure you bring some Ib profin!!! Nassau is great and if you go into town and catch cab to pleasure island and then check out the Atlantis resort! There is SOOO much to do there! and for free! Don't get conned into buying a day pass. You can check out the aquarium and then take the hotel shuttle to dolphin cove and check out a FREE dolphin show. You only need the pass to get into some areas of the resort but the shuttles take you all around for FREE! it is really a lot of fun!

Answer :
I have not been on Carnival Sensation, but I have been on Carnival Splendor and I had a blast! That was my first cruise I had ever been on as well. The first thing is that you should join one of the youth groups on the ship. If you are 12 - 14, you would go in Circle C, which I went in last year and made so many good friends that I even still keep in touch with! If you are 15-17, you would go in Club O2, which I have never experienced but they have such nicer rooms than us Circle C people. :)
Bahamas is really GORGEOUS! It was my favourite port of call last year and the beaches are really nice! One of the things I did was I wnet on a boat and they strapped me into a parachute and I got hoisted up into the air and it was so much fun! The view was beautiful, you should do that if you get the chance, unless you are afraid of heights of course.
Anyways if you are interested in what the boat is going to look like and stuff, here is a view links for you:

How can i make those noddles that i ate in the carnival cruise sensation?

I went on a cruise with my family and we loved it. Now my kids want me to cook the same thing they ate in the cruise. their favorite food was when the got to make their own noddle bowl with whatever they want in it and they got to choose from three sauces. The thing is i don't remember the sauces or how to make them, i really want to cook it for them cause its going to be their birthday soon and they would love that. Can anyone help please?

Answer :
I was told this was a secret that they wont tell you- I agree with you though, so nice noodles..wish I could make them like that!
You'll just have save up for another cruise! Getting Carnival cruise deals will make your next cruise a lot cheaper. Have a look at a few sites about this and see how much it'll cost!

Taking Bahama cruise on Carnival Sensation- wondering about dress code?

I just found out there is a dress code on the ships. I was planning on wearing mostly nice jean shorts, tank tops, & sandals most of the time Will this work? Is the dress code enforced? This is a vacation I don't want to "dress up". My stuff is all nice no stains and not skimpy just regular summer type wear but casual. This is my first cruise any advice would be great! Thanks

Answer :
You only have a dress code when dining in the restaurant. When anywhere else on the ship, you do not have to dress up at all. Shorts, tank tops and sandals are totally fine. They are even ok in the Buffet area. Cruise ships have dining rooms where it is required to dress up and have an elegant dinner. To be honest I am not one to dress up either. My husband and I usually go to the dining room one time to check it out and spend the rest of the time eating at the buffet.

Answer :
First off, good job picking the Sensation. They just did a total refurbishment of it and it looks great!!
The numbers of nights where you have the dress up dinner will depend on how long the cruise is.
On the Sensation they do 3 or 4 nights so it should only have 1 maybe 2 dress up dinner nights at the most. Usually its the 2nd night out.
But you don't have to go this if you don't want to. There is a pizza bar thats always open, room service, or just go to the buffett.
Other then that if you are just hanging out around the ship you should be fine with what you described.
Have a great time!!!

Answer :
For women; you should wear a nice dress or slacks to dinner (the cruise line will not allow you to wear cut offs)

For men; wear casual clothing ( no bathing suits or cut offs) just wear nice jeans

Answer :
Not really an answer but I am also Cruising to the Bahamas on the Carnival Sensation. I leave this Sunday. It is also our first cruise, maybe we will be sailing together! If not I'll let you know how it went.
